The Fellowship is six months long and takes three stages:
Teaching Stage
- This will be six weeks spent learning about DeSci, biosecurity, blockchain/web3, and adjacent tech (zK, AI).
- You will be allocated to a small group (6 to 10 people) and meet every week for two hours.
- Peer-to-peer Learning is a core component of the fellowship**,** so we don’t have “university-style lecture” content.
- There will be a facilitator in attendance at each weekly session to help guide the group learning.
- There will also be mentors giving talks on occasional weeks with a lot of time for QnA (this will usually fall outside of the weekly two-hour meeting). Attendance is not strictly mandatory but highly recommended.
- Each week will involve learning around 10 learning objectives. It is expected that you will need around 3-5 hours of self-directed learning each week.
- Each week, you will be given a learning objective. You must spend the week researching it and then present to your peers (5 min talk with 5 min for QnA). This presentation does not need to be slides; you can be as creative as you want!
- To progress to the next stage, you must attend the six weekly sessions.
Project Ideation Stage
- You will spend two weeks finalising what project you wish to work on.
- There will be no set times to meet so this will be up to you and those involved in the team.
Building Stage
- You will spend the next four months building and hacking on your project.
- Again, no set times, and it's up to the team to determine coordination logistics (time required, meetings, milestones, etc).
Demo Day
- This will culminate in a demo day where you will present your project publicly to an audience of scientists, policy makers and investors
